I have an extra 2006 Mac Pro. Has anyone run Linux on one of these bare metal? I had put a fair amount of money into it, has 8 gigs of RAM, and a pair of 250 gig HDDs. It's a workstation class machine but I'm curious how well it has run current Linux distros since its not a 'standard' x86 box.
The other option would be to sell it. Any idea what it'd be worth?

I have many other Macs, I just need a Linux box, and the question is do I use the 2006 Mac Pro, or sell it and buy another machine to run Linux.
